University Library Overview
Welcome to UC Davis! We developed this guide to help you navigate the library resources available to you.
The UC Davis University Library includes Shields Library, the Physical Sciences & Engineering Library, the Carlson Health Sciences Library, and the Blaisdell Medical Library in Sacramento.
We employ over 40 professional librarians and 100 staff members who work to make our collections of almost 4 million books, 40,000 journals, magazines and newspapers, and over 800 research databases discoverable and useful.

- Library CardsYour Student ID card serves as your library card. Take a minute to activate your card online.
- TerminologyThis table includes translations of frequently used library terms into Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French and Spanish. We have also created a glossary of library terms and definitions.
